Demonica Tuggles, LICSW
About me
When life comes at you fast and you’re unsure on what to do next, you may start to experience anxiety, depression, stress, or just need someone to offer support during life’s obstacles. During those times, it is beneficial to seek support and create an outlet to start your journey to healing, growth, and success. I am passionate about providing a safe and supportive space to assist you, the normal everyday person, in overcoming life’s obstacles through developing a non-judgmental therapeutic collaboration.
I utilize a number of therapeutic modalities including motivational interviewing, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral and acceptance and commitment therapies to help clients understand the root of their symptoms in order to accurately identify appropriate coping mechanisms.
I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from Howard University and a clinically licensed social worker in the District of Columbia with years of professional work experience. I bring a wealth of knowledge of child welfare, gerontology, helping clients coping with grief and loss, motivation, self-esteem issues, and confidence. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage, and I am proud of you for getting started!
